Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about renting a car at Mauritius SSR Airport, from our 10% deposit policy to tips on left-hand driving.

Do I need an International Driving Permit (IDP) in Mauritius?

Valid driving licenses from your home country (printed in English or French) are legally accepted in Mauritius for up to four weeks. If your license is in another language, or you plan to stay longer, an IDP is mandatory. You must be at least 21 years old with one year of driving experience.

Do you require a security deposit?

We pride ourselves on absolute transparency. While some companies ask for enormous blockages on your card, we only require a 10% deposit online to secure your booking. There are no hidden fees. Our comprehensive insurance (CDW and TP) options will be clearly explained upon your arrival.

How does the Airport Pick-up work?

Our airport transfer process is entirely frictionless. Step 1: Land and collect your luggage. Step 2: Spot our representative holding your name sign at Gate 5/6. Step 3: Complete a rapid vehicle inspection and start your holiday immediately. No queuing at crowded rental desks!

Is it difficult to drive on the left side of the road in Mauritius?

Mauritius follows left-hand driving, similar to the UK and Australia. If you are used to driving on the right, it can take a day to adjust. To reduce anxiety, we strongly recommend booking one of our automatic transmission vehicles so you can focus entirely on navigating the traffic and roundabouts.

What is your fuel policy?

We operate on a fair and transparent "full-to-full" or "same-to-same" fuel policy. You return the car with the exact same amount of fuel it had when you received it, ensuring you don't pay any hidden refueling surcharges.
